I think about my own experiences as someone who was teased as “fat” and “chubby” growing up and how those words negatively affected my feelings about food and my body for years. I was constantly on a diet.
My trials are not at all uncommon, and there’s a good chance you’ve gone through something similar.
Recently, it really struck me how many adults I know—men and women alike—have been “on a diet” their whole lives.
(And when I say “on a diet” I mean desperately trying to eat less food, eating less fat, restricting and holding back, constantly worrying about food, and so on. I don’t mean “diet” as the way we describe the collective foods we eat.)
About six months ago, I realized my mission, my purpose is to help folks get healthy, happy and harder to kill through nutrition, fitness and mindset work. Food and recipes are absolutely important, but weaving a healthy lifestyle includes more than one thread in the tapestry.
