Every person is different in terms of how much training they can handle. The 3 weekly sessions are each full body workouts that center around compound movements to give you the most bang for your buck. You’re encouraged to do cardio / other sports in addition to strength training to fulfill the movement guidelines for adults. If you’re an endurance athlete, it’s important to do some strength training to prevent muscle loss. If you train very hard in another sport, you may want to reduce down to 2 strength sessions a week which you can do with this program.

Dynamic Dumbbells is a 3-4 month dumbbell strength program where you’re told exactly what to do. It’s progressively programmed to help you gradually build muscle, strength, and power. It’s training. If you don’t want to think much, this is your program.

Made Strong gives you templates and you pick the exercises in choose-your-own-adventure style workouts. It’s designed for the more casual lifter who values choices and flexibility.

Yes! There are ~80 video demos inside Dynamic Dumbbells. Each movement includes detailed notes about form and technique, plus ideas for making that movement easier or more challenging. 

In Phase 1, you’ll need a set of resistance bands.

In Phase 2, you’ll need at least 1 set of dumbbells, but 2 sets are recommended: light-medium and medium-heavy. Everyone’s strength is different but an example might be 8-12 pounds (light-medium) and 15-25 pounds (medium-heavy).

“Nice to haves” for the whole program include a yoga mat or towel and a bench or sturdy chair.

The program includes 3 workouts per week. Between warm up, workout, and cool down, you’ll need about 45 minutes. You can also superset the exercises to save time.
