Hello Leslie, welcome to the show.

Leslie Tagorda
Hi, Steph. Thanks for having me. I am so excited that you’re here.

Steph Gaudreau
I am so glad that you said yes to being on the show. And the listeners are in for a treat today.

Steph Gaudreau
Yeah, because we’re going to talk about your zone of genius which is really using astrology to help people discover and validate themselves and I know that this is a topic that my community is very interested

Steph Gaudreau
In, we were talking about that earlier. So thank you for coming on and sharing your wonderful wisdom with us.

Leslie Tagorda
Ohhh I am so excited. You know, anytime you want to talk about stars, I am here for you.

Steph Gaudreau
And you do so very well. I mean, to give the listeners a little bit of backstory about how we came to know each other, which is very recent. But when I saw your post in Rachael Rogers is we should all be millionaires to the club which by the way, you should all, if you’re in business, go join the club.

Leslie Tagorda
Yes.

Steph Gaudreau
I’m not getting paid to say that. I just think it’s amazing. It’s a great community but you first put this post in the club about asking who is kind of a spiritual entrepreneur and I don’t know why that post just drew me in.

Leslie Tagorda
Yes, oh my gosh, that post when I was calling and we’re all my like, my real people and like

Leslie Tagorda
It was flooded with people like hey, maybe. And then yeah, you were We were like, instant besties

Steph Gaudreau
I was super drawn to you. Your energy is, is very I mean, I’m super sensitive to people’s energy as it is, but your energy is so expansive and inclusive and big. You have just been warm, you have this like big, warm, loving energy and it totally, it totally sucked me in. And I think my response was something like, you know, I’m not a person who teaches like in the spiritual entrepreneurship space, but I’m somebody exploring that for myself and what that means. And so that’s why I was super drawn and then we just started talking and then I was like, I need to work with you. And now here you are on the podcast.

Leslie Tagorda
Yes. Oh my gosh, well, you are so intuitive, I mean, and that comes from that place of a spirit, right? You’re so connected. And I love how you’re really coming out and really claiming that now because it’s a huge part of you like as I’m sitting here, looking directly at your chart, I’m always looking at people’s charts when I’m talking to them.

Steph Gaudreau
You’re like, Huh,

Leslie Tagorda
I see like, all of their, like archetypes, light up all of their, their planetary energies like, Oh, me, Listen to me. Listen to me.

Steph Gaudreau
It’s Yeah, it’s incredible.

Steph Gaudreau
It’s been super illuminating to work with you, and I’m loving it. And we’ll talk more about that later. But I know that one of the things that really drew me to wanting to know more about you is that you have this really amazing presence. You have this really grounding presence, as I said, this really expansive presence. And when I learned that you were relatively new to putting this gift out there into the world.

Steph Gaudreau
And used to do something else before. I was sort of like, I need to know more about this, like, what brought this change on what made you step out and say, I’m claiming this for myself, and I want to know that story because I don’t know it and I think it’s gonna provide a lot of interest to our listeners, no matter if they’re in business, or they’re just a person trying to make it through life and feel more like themselves.

Leslie Tagorda
Oh my gosh, yeah. So thank you for asking. And thank you for noticing that because this is like this expansive, bubbly sparkly me that you see now is a very recent evolution of myself I would say. If you had a definition of like Late Bloomer, you would find my name in the dictionary right there was a late bloomer because I am not a spring chicken.

Leslie Tagorda
And I’ve been basically running a business in some respect. Since I got out of college. I’ve always had to work for myself, but only until a couple of years ago. Did I really start kind of getting really fed up with hiding, like fed up with keeping small, fed up with not valuing myself?

Leslie Tagorda
It really, I would say this kind of opening of like, Who the heck is Leslie Tagore to happen started when I was about 40 and when I was 14 like I got married when I was 14, I had a child when I was 41. You know, all of these things that people are rushing to do by the time that they were 30 like I didn’t do any of this until like I was well into my 40s and kind of looking at like astrology there is kind of like your midlife crises. There’s an astrological aspect Uranus opposite your natal Uranus for you know those astrology nerds out there.

Leslie Tagorda
But this is like a crisis and identity like, Oh my gosh, what am I here to do for and like, I knew that I have this power to share and I’m like, Why the heck hadn’t I been sharing it? So I had been doing branding in my business like web design and brand design and, and this whole time I was a classical musician. That’s like a whole nother story. Let’s not go there.

Leslie Tagorda
There’s like so many layers like I, I hate to like put out like, everything that I do because it kind of like people are like, how do you do all of that? You know, it’s like, Wait, you’re this and you’re this and it’s very confusing because I’m so many things, Riley multi-racial, and all this stuff. But if I want to focus just on the astrology part, I was doing web design and branding for all of these customers. And, you know, we were all kind of shuffling along not making that big of a difference and I was like really kind of upset at like some of the customers that I was having getting really frustrated with them. Like they’re not turning their things in on time, all these things and I was like, Oh, wait, it was a complete reflection of myself at that time.

Leslie Tagorda
And I was like, I can’t do this anymore. And I was like, I’m good at fairway in my business. And then I opened up my natal chart and I hadn’t looked at my natal chart for so long. I’ve always been a lover of astrology, like since on another sixth grade or so. And I popped into my chart and I was like, Oh, look at this. Oh, look at that. And I was like, I’m not living any of these energies that I’m supposed to be living at the highest expression. And then all of a sudden like it was like this explosion. And I found this like framework for like branding, like business branding, as I was like looking at my chart and like, just like really just the floodgates they were just they were waiting for me to see and it was like at the tip of my tongue at the tip of my nose the entire time. Short story.

Steph Gaudreau
I love I love that. Oh, gosh, I have so many questions for you.

Steph Gaudreau
You said that you’ve been really interested in astrology ever since sixth grade. Yeah. And I’m curious to know, you know, I think a lot of people have preconceptions about what astrology is, or you know, it’s they make fun of it. It’s the thing that you see in the back of the newspaper, so generic, it could apply to anyone, you know, that kind of thing. Like when you first got introduced to astrology, how we’re, like, how was that for you? Was it sort of like that? You know, you look in Cosmo and you see your horoscope or, like, was it something deeper than that or what piqued your interest about it?

Leslie Tagorda
It was way, way, way deeper than that. I think I grew up in Hawaii. And so in the sixth, like Hawaii is super, super superstitious. There are many, many different cultures. And so, you know, by the sixth grade, we were all very familiar.

Leslie Tagorda
With like our Chinese zodiac sign, you know, my Filipino grandma was always telling me different superstitions of what not to do what to do. My Jewish mother, who she wasn’t very religious, but then we had like a whole nother set of rituals that we would do in our house. And then my stepdad who is Buddhist, like, I just had this onslaught of religions and spiritual traditions. And so as a little child, like how do you navigate all of these different stories and myths? And so when my teacher in the sixth grade said, hey, let’s go look up your everybody looks up your astrology based on you know, your birthday, and let’s learn about these different myths. It was kind of like, Whoa, there’s this kind of like, overarching story and system that all of these other religions like even as a little child, I kind of knew that they’d be like, I hope I don’t offend anybody, but like these kinds of like manmade religions.

Leslie Tagorda
You know, like Christianity and like Judaism and stuff I thought that was conflicting. But I only saw the similarities in them more so than the differences. And then when I discovered astrology, finding out that as an Aquarius, I was like, oh, all of these pieces fit together. And even before the sixth grade, you know, and you’re like a teeny tiny little kid and everybody’s always asking you Oh, what do you want to be when you grow up? I always said that I wanted to be a star scientist because I didn’t know what the word was. There was always something magical about stars that I was really drawn to. So the astrology like adding the story behind the science, both of which I love and believe in just put everything together for me was like it was this the first click of a few puzzle pieces put together.

Steph Gaudreau
Gosh, I love that. And I love how that’s kind of been this consistent piece for you. And yet, you were saying, you know, when you’re kind of 40, all these things, all these changes happen. And you felt really, I guess, restless or incomplete with what you are doing. I mean, I think a common thread that runs through this podcast and has since its inception, no matter if you’re in business or not, you’re a coach, or you’re not one of the consistent themes that so many of my guests talk about, because I think this is just common to the human condition. It is this idea of making big changes and like, what was and I think that is universally applicable, in the sense that what was that decision? like for you? I know, you just kind of told us what led up to it. But how did you actually say, Well, I’m going to shift and do this. I guess the subtext to this question is, were you like 100% Sure. It was all going to work out and it was going to be great. Did you have doubts or fears along the way? What was that like for you?

Leslie Tagorda
Oh, yeah. Oh my gosh. I mean, there’s still the self-doubt, right? There’s always like, this is battling and like telling those like little those voices in your head and learning about those voices in your head, right because we’ve all had those voices in our head from when we were little telling us what we could do or what we were deserving of. And I think this comes with, like aging with the wisdom of like, noticing those stories instead of letting them rule you. You’re like, Oh, hey, old friend. Yeah, I heard ya. I’m not gonna listen to you this time. Right. And so, I think when I was because I have made a series of like, big decisions. And this is actually just something very recent that I found out is like, I do my best when there’s like mountains to move. Right when there’s some like a big challenge if there’s just like, oh, let’s do this one little thing when you find this hill, I am not interested. Right? I don’t want to do any of that. But when somebody says, hey, let’s move across the country or let’s do, like move this mountain or climb this peak, I’m like, yeah, let’s give me the hard stuff. That’s when I show up. Right? So, when pivoting like these big pivots have always really been exciting for me, like jumping into the unknown has. I’ve never had fear of jumping into the unknown. For me, it’s always the fear of not necessarily failing, but the fear of not being loved or not being good enough. And then back. Does that make sense? I don’t know if those dilates at all. Yeah, 100% it does and a paradox.

Steph Gaudreau
Well, when you’re talking about big, big challenges, right, and I think that like you said, some people do their best when there’s a really big challenge. And some people do best when the challenges are more, you know, they’re stretching a little bit, but it’s not what I would, you know, I heard described once as a die, which is like this, this challenge is so big, it’s just so impossible. The cognitive dissonance is so massive, I just can’t even. And so I think that’s really important knowledge about yourself, right of like, Hey, I didn’t do notice that I do tend to rise to these big challenges and that the smaller ones aren’t quite as they don’t shake me up quite as much and, and using that to your advantage, right, as you’re kind of constructing the way you want your business to look, or you want your life to look and not playing by the rules that everybody is, you know, oh, we all do this, or Oh, we all do that. I think that’s what I hear you saying is self-knowledge.

Leslie Tagorda
Yes. In fact, yeah, finding what that mountain is for you because it’s going to be so different and it’s going to be at different times right now.

Leslie Tagorda
Look, can we talk a little bit about that money challenge that we did?

Steph Gaudreau
Well, yeah, I was gonna say like 10 k in 10 days. Yes, please.

Leslie Tagorda
Right? Like, we, you know, both of us are talking about it. Like, I was like, hey, you’re gonna do it. I don’t know where you’re gonna do it. And even for me when I was deciding to do it, at first, I wasn’t going to do it because I was like, oh, I’m not motivated by money. Money is not that important to me. But really, what I when I started diving into money is not important to me. I was like, wait, what, what is this story really telling me? And you know, looking at my chart and looking at all these things, I discovered that Oh, hey, I’ve never made a money goal before. Like, I’m afraid, like, if I can tell myself Oh, money’s not important to me. Then if I fail at making a money goal, then it’s okay. Right and then having to kind of change this dialogue in my head.

Leslie Tagorda
By like, literally looking at my chart and saying, oh, what does money mean to me? In my chart? What does a goal or challenge to me like what is going to add significance? Because significance, the Y factor is what ties me to a goal. And that was like this really big breakthrough for me. And I was like, wait, why do I want to make this money? Oh, yeah, I think giving my power away for the last two years not making money, right, depending on my husband or whatnot. And for whatever reason, it just like lit this fire in me and I’m like, Okay, let’s go make more money now. What? What motivated you because I know you were on the, on the fence too.

Steph Gaudreau
I was. I was I almost didn’t do it. And there was a post. There was a post that somebody shared, in the group. And I was like, Yeah, I think I’m not gonna do it. Like I’m okay with it. And then it just the thing that I think made it click for me was the idea of continuing to hold back something that could potentially be helping people in my community and essentially boils down to me being selfish to continue to sit on that and I was like, Okay, I’m just gonna do it.

Leslie Tagorda
Okay, and I didn’t know for all the listeners out here, but let’s just say that Steph killed it. And she was like, the ultimate winner.

Steph Gaudreau
Which completely shocked me and I was talking to my husband because this so the community is full of like, such incredible people. I mean, it’s just, I was just getting all teary listening to all the stories of everybody doing amazing things for themselves. And I went until my husband later on and I was like, I was just so shocked. And he’s like, I’m not. Story of my life.

Leslie Tagorda
So, yes, I think the moral of the story, right, is that if we could only see ourselves or accept ourselves the way that other people see us.

Steph Gaudreau
Uh-huh.

Leslie Tagorda
Right. Yeah. I see you as a superstar. Your husband sees you as a superstar. This group of thousand women, like motivated driven women, see you as a superstar. You’re like, oh, I don’t know.

Steph Gaudreau
Yeah, it’s, uh, you know, even like, it’s that’s just been a kind of a running current throughout my life.

Leslie Tagorda
I think everybody here can relate because I mean, that’s for me too, right? Like even you saying like, Oh, I see you as this sparkly expansive, you know, person and I was just like, well, you know, I’m seeing that now like just the last two years but you know, two years ago hack No.

Steph Gaudreau
Well, I love that you’re able to reinvent, reinvent who you are, but not in a, like, I get through. Sometimes that term comes out and it feels maybe a little bit disingenuous, but like, what I hear you saying is like it’s kind of like coming home and that that is so, so powerful and yet we celebrate it and other people were like, Oh, you That’s amazing. And then when it comes to ourselves, we’re like, I don’t know, do I deserve it? Am I ready? What will people think of me? Right and we had to hold back because we don’t feel like we’re allowed to change.

Leslie Tagorda
Yes. Right. Yeah. Well, I love the idea of reinvention. And what I see it as is more evolutionary. Right? And then, you know, if we bring it back to astrology, again, like, to me one of the most powerful ways of using astrology is just like self-realization and self-assessment. And you know, I what I noticed a lot of people they’ll look at their chart and they’ll be like, Oh, God, I have this like, you know, like some big mountain they’re just like, Oh, this is this horrible aspect and this is not a good placement of my Mars or My Venus, I’m going to be destined to X, Y or Z. And I want to challenge everybody because I, everything in our natal chart is a gift, like, honestly, right? And that way we can see what we thought was like this, this, like this lumpy piece of coal, and then we look at it in this different way, and we cherish it. And before you know it, this lump of coal turns into this diamond. And then all of a sudden you don’t hate that Saturn placement. You’re like, Oh my gosh, I needed that. You know and like, like deciding that we are going to be looking at our charts in this very empowering way. It helps us to evolve and express ourselves at the highest potentials like fast but like just like lights me up about astrology.

Steph Gaudreau
I’m glad you brought that up because I think that’s also another misconception or a belief that people have right is that you’re, it’s almost like if you use the Tarot, there’s gonna be cards that you pull. And sometimes you think, oh, I don’t want that.

Steph Gaudreau
Or there’s your year of Pisces sun with like all Capricorn, everything and you’re like,

Steph Gaudreau
Oh my god, this is so annoying, right? But I think what I hear you saying is that if we can kind of learn to embrace these parts of ourselves that right like we all have that shadow side, we all have the things that we feel like Oh, if we could just give them back and trade them for something else that may be perfect. But I think what I hear you saying is that learning to lean into those different aspects can show us parts of ourselves that make us more whole.

Leslie Tagorda
Yeah.

Steph Gaudreau
And also that we can learn to use for things that we didn’t see before.

Leslie Tagorda
I so I’m curious because you mentioned you know, your Pisces son with all those Capricorns as you know, I’m looking at your chart with your Capricorn moon and your Capricorn Venus. So Capricorn rising and rising to Yes, yes. Yeah, you have like, really like strong Capricorn pillars. And so I’m curious, you know, what were some of those things that you kind of judged about all of that Capricorn that you now see as a strength?

Steph Gaudreau
Hmm. I think, you know, I think, the biggest one is that there’s a lot of other I have, you know, taking pretty much every personality test, and I think that there’s a lot of overlap, right. So I in the Strengths Finder, achievement, is one of my top five strengths, or competition, I think is up there too. I’m an enneagram, three, which is kind of notorious for like wanting all the gold stars and accomplishment and I think that the part about Capricorn that I didn’t, I was like, Oh, really? Is it you know, Capricorns are kind of known for being like, we’re gonna climb that mountain with our goatee little hooves, and we’re just gonna, like keep climbing, keep climbing. And I think there were definitely parts of me that I thought, I’m like, is success in that way or like an achievement in that way, the only way that I can find worth and value in myself. And that’s initially why I didn’t like it because there’s so much environment that’s around that has that energy, right.

Leslie Tagorda
Yeah. And then, you know, it’s so funny because like, I do know a lot of Capricorn people and I only really recently realized why I was drawing in all these Capricorn people because like you have a Capricorn Venus, and I just did a post earlier calling in my Capricorn Venus people because I wanted to find out who all of these powerful Capricorn Venus people are because you know, Venus is our, of course, you know the goddess and, you know, in astrology we’ll think of her as like beauty and love and our ability to connect, right? And the way I look at Venus is the expansion of like the ability to connect like the ability to connect to the right people, and the right resources and like your values, right? So of course, those values that you uphold are about accomplishing and getting up the mountain and getting all of your results. And then also the Capricorn rising. Now all of a sudden, you lead by example, you inspire others as being this role model for everybody else. Right. And, you know, Rachel Rogers also has a Capricorn Venus. This is like the embodiment of the goddess archetype that is the businesswoman.

Steph Gaudreau
Fascinating. Yes.

Leslie Tagorda
I just discovered that

Steph Gaudreau
I love that. Um, on that note, you talk you talked recently about and you had a post about on Instagram, we’ll link it in the show notes so people can go see it. But you had a post about soft powers. And I think that’s pretty related to what we’re talking about here. But I would love for you to kind of give us a little overview of what you mean by soft powers and why you think that this is so important, as we are moving further into where we’re all in this kind of like new time in the world like we’ve never experienced before most of us. How can we leverage those soft powers in a time like this?

Leslie Tagorda
Oh, yes, I’m so glad that you asked. And I’m so glad that you noticed this. I think one of the reasons why people are turning to astrology and turning to all of these kind of esoteric arts recently. It’s not just to find meaning and uncertainty, but there really is a spiritual awakening that we’re right in the middle of like, if we you know, regardless of you know anything about astrology or care to know or are super into it like this is like a revolutionary year, this is like the beginning of something new and it’s, it’s a lot of discomforts. Right? And while you know, I would say like the archetype of the Divine female is coming into fore and people are now remembering the extreme power that there is from the divine feminine and the divine feminine. Isn’t this hard riddle? forceful power. It’s a soft, receptive, stretching, more nonlinear power, right. Thinking of it just from like the ultimate creation of that a woman can do you know, whether or not someone is a mother. I think everybody can understand and appreciate the process of birthing, either a new person or a new idea, or whatever the baby is, right? There’s this place of uncertainty and there’s this place of chaos and there’s this place of mass, but like what a woman goes through to stretch and to receive and to soften into bringing this new entity into the world, whatever that baby is. That’s the soft power.

Leslie Tagorda
That I think people are finally understanding the power to receive, right like, I think that a lot of women have the habit block with receiving even, you know, even me thinking about how we can or can’t accept a compliment, or a gift or a financial windfall, and we’ll just chalk it up to locker something and not just say, Ah, thank you.

Steph Gaudreau
Mm-hmm. Right. Yeah. 100% I know, one of the other software you mentioned was intuition, which is a big fan of around these parts. Yes.

Steph Gaudreau
I know a lot of people have a hard time with that concept because they feel like oh, it’s just like, it’s just like in your head, or it’s not real or is this a place that we should be making decisions from? Or is that you know, are we just making it up? And there’s a lot of negative connotation with intuition. Who, how, what are some ways that you think people can become more receptive to their intuition?

Leslie Tagorda
Yeah. Well, the first is to acknowledge that we have been taught to distrust our intuition. Right, that’s by design. Right. And so the first step is to understand that like, we’ve been taught to distrust it, so how can we now connect and trust to it and so it’s gonna be different for different people, like wherever you have Pisces in your chart is an area that you are meant to receive, right?

Leslie Tagorda
Pisces is about ease, and it’s about flow, and to notice the things like when things feel draining, or do things feel exciting, right? If things feel draining, they’re probably going in the wrong direction, right It’s like these little subtle things. I think you have such a great way of talking about listening to your body.

Leslie Tagorda
Like, our body is like just this device. And when people say like, Listen to your gut, of course, because our mind doesn’t live in our gut, but our gut has like the infinite knowledge.

Steph Gaudreau
Yes, absolutely. Yeah. There’s this an intelligence in our that our bodies have where we know we get that feeling of if something doesn’t feel aligned or it feels heavy or it feels constrictive, or it feels dark, or like, it comes up in so many different ways for different people, but it’s not always I don’t think even like, a No way. But it can be a sensation, which I think we’ve been taught as you said at the beginning to just distrust it, or it’s not real or, you know, we need to use logic for everything. And it’s really interesting because we can logic ourselves in circles.

Leslie Tagorda
Oh, god, yes. All right. Overthinking!

Steph Gaudreau
Yeah, we don’t get anywhere, and then if we just stop and say, Okay, well, like how do we feel about this right now and we still have the will to make that decision using our logic and our rational mind, but it’s an important input.

Leslie Tagorda
Yeah. And you know, isn’t it is spectacular like that when you finally learn to trust your intuition. And to just be still and be mindful. Right? Like, whoa, what is that curious feelings to get like to lead with curiosity and say, Hey, does that is that true? Does that feel right? Well, let’s try it. And as you cultivate it, your intuition just gets stronger and stronger and stronger. And so, when you look at even like little children, I’m always fascinated with my son because he is so fully in his body. And I don’t want to ever rob that from him. Like I want him to always lead with his body. Like I know exactly how he’s feeling just the way he moves and everything and, you know, just to get back to that, that innocent place with being in our bodies again, it’s such a gift.

Steph Gaudreau
Absolutely. Is there anything coming up as significantly astrologically that you want to share with us as we’re closing out or anything that’s kind of an interesting events or just a time on the astrological calendar that has some power or importance?

Leslie Tagorda
Yes. So we have some big things coming up. As I said, 2020 has just like this seismic year was the year that the word that I want to us right now, right? You see people like they’re in these extremities, right? Like some people are just like riding high. And then there are some people who are like, just down in the dumps, and part of it has to do is just like your ability to embrace chaos and just jump into it kind of full-heartedly, right. So back in June, June 30, we had one of the second of three meetings of Jupiter and Pluto in the sky. There are three big planet planetary alignments, that um, that started like a book and the beginning of the year and the book and at the end of the year, and they happen between Jupiter, Pluto, and Saturn.

Leslie Tagorda
Very beginning of the year, Saturn and Pluto met, and at the very end of the year, and like towards the end of December, Jupiter and Saturn will meet. And this is going to be like the beginning of just this new epic revolution. I’m so excited about this.

Leslie Tagorda
So but when Jupiter and Pluto meet, there are going to they’re going to meet for the third time in November. So when they meet these three times, they Pluto’s like our intensity. It’s our like, sometimes we can look at as fear, sometimes we can look at it as like, just like intense transformation at this deepest level core. And so if you’re feeling really fearful, around change, then Jupiter is just going to amplify it. Right? But if you’re like jumping in like heart first, like yeah, let’s, I know that this is going to land on my feet and it’s going to be even better than Jupiter is going to amplify that also, right? So as we build-up to the rest of the year you know, look for November when Pluto and Jupiter meet up and then again when Jupiter and Saturn meet up in December. So right now we’re in a big, big build. Mars is going to be adding a lot of motivation, some frustration, a lot of activism. So, you know, I would say that the ripple effects for the second half of 2020 we can expect a lot of discomforts so to say but if we can just ride that wave we know and get to the end of the year, this is going to be a really good place for all of us.

Steph Gaudreau
Oh,

Leslie Tagorda
And like looking at your chart with your Venus in Capricorn at 19 degrees, Jupiter’s is touching your Venus right now and so yeah, this is a really abundant time for you and Jupiter’s going to be like hanging out with your Venus for quite a bit of time, so use this time to really glow up.

Steph Gaudreau
I love it. When, when we’re off the air, I’ll tell you the three cards that I pulled for myself the other night, you’ll, you’ll find it very interesting.

Steph Gaudreau
