Strawberry Lemonade Gummies Recipe

Strawberry Lemonade Gummies |

Making homemade gummies with fruit and high-quality gelatin is one alternative to making lots of bone broth / soup stock for its gelatin content.

These Strawberry Lemonade Gummies are a recipe I develop for The combo of the berries and lemon give it a sweet-tart flavor that’s really refreshing. (This is the high-quality gelatin I use.)

  1. I was so excited to discover this recipe because I had Great Lakes Gelatin just sitting in my kitchen. I just got tired of drinking it and forgot about it for a long while.

I just finished my first batch ever. This recipe turned out wonderful. Much easier to do than baking something new for the first time because I’m not a baking and just an everyday home cook. This stuff is so good too. I did add Honey to my batch. I am a honey freak.

I was mildly stressed this first go when I began putting in the Gelatin powder. I would recommend that you keep the fire on and on low and stir vigorously and continuously once you put the gelatin in. The sauce was pretty warm but this stuff gels fast when it hits the liquid. My first tablespoon clumped up quickly so I just gently turned the heat up another notch to get it to boil a bit because I guess the sauce cools that quickly. Some of the gel landed in the bottom of the pan and so I just scrapped it for a couple of minutes.

When I was confident I had it mixed well I added the next tablespoon and so on. It will still clump just keep stirring to a consistency that satisfies you. Be patient with this and it turns out great.

I’ve never really cared for jello but with this healthy version now I can say I heart jello! Thank you so much for this recipe.

  2. Hey Steph!
I am huge fan of your Instagram and your recipes and am constantly trying the ideas you recommend. My absolute favorite at the moment is your cauliflower fried rice, I could eat it for every meal!!
I recently tried to make your Strawberry Lemonade funnies and even purchased the gelatin you recommended. I thought I followed your instructions by the book last night but when I opened my fridge this morning to cut them up, I found they had not set. The only thing I think I may have done wrong is the mixture wasn’t warm enough when I added in the gelatin? I even bought the Great Lakes kind! Is there a way to remedy my failed attempt? Or do I have to start over? Any help is appreciated, I am a novice when it comes to gelatin!

    1. Hi Elana…awww thanks for being so awesome! The most common problem is boiling the gelatin which can denature it and make it unable to set. Also, what color is your Great Lakes bottle? Let me know!

      1. It’s the green one! Shoot, I didn’t know there was a difference. The mixture was never boiling when I mixed in the gelatin, just on low temp on the stovetop. I thought maybe it wasn’t warm enough, but what do I know? What a waste of strawberries 🙁

        1. Hi Elana…ah, that’s why. The green canister is collagen which won’t gel. You could still drink it!

  3. Made these for the 1st time and they turned out perfect! Not super fruity/sweet which I like, but my kids probably will take some getting used to it. Thanks for the recipe.

  4. Hi Steph, I noticed on the Great Lakes container it says to mix gelatin with cold liquid for 1 minute before adding to hot liquid. How come you don’t do this in your recipe? Thanks so much!

    1. That process is called blooming and it’s done to reduce clumping. I’m lazy and find that it works just fine without that if you’re patient enough and pour slowly.

  5. I know this is an old post, but the recipe is no longer found on the other website. Is it possible for you to post the recipe here? Thanks!
