“Strong is the new ___________.”
You’ve seen these fitspo memes and t-shirts all over the web (and in the gym).
Here’s some straight talk from me:
Strong is the new strong.
That’s it. Strong is strong.
Physical strength is quantifiable. Mental strength (confidence, some might call it), well that’s a bit harder to measure. But either way, why do we keep trying to explain strong away as something else?
And in most cases, it seems like we’re trying to downplay it, make it more acceptable (read: feminine), or diminish its power when we say it’s skinny / sexy / pretty.
Let’s own it. Strong is f’ing strong. No apologies or excuses needed.
