The Hustle is Fake | Harder to Kill Radio

The Hustle is Fake

The hustle is an illusion. There, I said it.

Surprise! Harder to Kill Radio is back for season two, and we’re shaking things up a little.

Episode 1’s topic is all about The Hustle, that relentless rat race that keeps you feeling stressed.

Here’s the post that started it all:

I had no idea that this image would strike such a nerve in my community…

…but it became abundantly clear that people are tuned in to The Hustle.

And they don’t like it. At least, of course, most people.

There’s been an interesting counterargument going around, primarily in the entrepreneurial space, that basically maintains The Hustle is needed for success in business.

Because apparently most everyone’s doing it. So that must be good.

Well, I’ve got a blog post brewing about that because it’s absolute nonsense…and it’s time to start destroying the myth of The Hustle.

In This Episode of Harder to Kill Radio, We Cover:

  • How season two of the show’s gonna be different
  • Why the show took a 6 month break
  • Why The Hustle is so pervasive
  • The difference between hard work and The Hustle
  • How to break out of The Hustle

  1. I see that “Hustle” as an offshoot of the power of advertising. The slogan from the animated movie “Robots” was “Why be you when you can be new?” When you buy into that, you can be pulled in any direction by anybody. It’s hard to shake that, especially when being different is looked down upon. Society is really pushing conformity now but when we decide that what’s good for us doesn’t have to match anybody else, we’re on our way to helping ourselves be our own best. I need to do better with that myself and I’m gonna be watching it from now on. Thanks for that message and love your husband’s attitude and his NON-accent. Scottish is my favorite non-accent to listen to.

  2. Thank you so much for this episode, it was exactly what I needed to hear! Being in college I have become accustomed to pushing self care to the wayside. Having you reaffirm how important it is to take time for one’s self really resonated with me.
